- Acclaimed mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, recognized world-wide as a young singer of unparalled excitement, performs amid the majesty of Washington National Cathedral. Joining Graves in the Christmas concert are Jim Henson's Sesame Street muppets starring Kevin Clash as Elmo, Babatunde Olatungi, Andes Manta, the Cathedral Choral Society, the Ellington Show Choir, the Cathedral Boy Choristers, and the Cathedral Festival Orchestra conducted by Charles Floyd.
The first segment features traditional carols and hymns, including "Ave Maria" sung in the intimacy of the Cathedral's St. Mary's Chapel. The second section incorporates international elements, celebrating the global appeal of the holiday season. In the third section, Graves and her guests perform contemporary songs and carols, including "Christmas Once More," a new song by Gene Scheer that Graves premieres on DENYCE GRAVES - A CATHEDRAL CHRISTMAS, which also features selections from her recording of spirituals, "Angels Watching Over Me.$19.95 at PayPal
